In the night of 12 on 13 september 1997 Meindert Tjoelker was beaten up when he appealled to a number of vandals about their behavoir. The mistreatment was so bad that he died later that night in the hospital. He was 30 years. He was about to get married on 19 september with his bride, Jennifer Zijlstra. All of Holland was in deep shock. A Policeman appealled for a demonstration, to show that this can not and may not happen again. The man in the street was unanimous. This is to be halted.
